Liturgical Anthropology

According to recent accounts of so called “liturgical anthropology,” human beings are ritual creatures shaped more by what they feel than think. This is because the liturgies that make up our daily lives orient desires towards certain goals and visions good life. We seek expand this vision liturgical anthropology offering a critique predominantly affective development in which liturgy shapes primarily we love. Drawing insights from developmental psychology, argue affect cognition intertwined throughout development, each reinforcing other. Instead attempting artificially separate affect, then, offer holistic, paying attention ways both beliefs participation liturgies, whether these be religious or otherwise. Finally, psychological concept “joint attention” can provide helpful focal point for establishing why formative development.
